Methodology

Every structured record should carry enough metadata for another reader to understand where it came from, how fresh it is and what we have not established.

Core record fields: source, source type, date checked, geographic scope, verification status, material definitions and notes on uncertainty.

Venue directory standard

Our directory is a research product, not a booking marketplace. A listing is never a recommendation, an endorsement, a site visit or a guarantee that a court is open, suitable or bookable. We show an unknown field rather than infer it.

Verification labels

Verified from public primary sources means we checked a venue or operator’s own current webpage, booking page or official business channel. It does not mean direct venue confirmation unless we say so. Platform-reported means an identifiable booking platform currently listed the venue for pickleball, but Pickleball Gyan has not independently confirmed the material details. Estimated means calculated from disclosed assumptions or incomplete evidence. Unverified is a research lead and is not published as a directory record.

Source hierarchy

  1. Current official venue or operator pages, booking pages and official business channels.
  2. Current third-party booking-platform listings, visibly labelled as platform-reported.
  3. Organiser pages or reputable reporting, only where relevant and attributed.
  4. Reader submissions as leads, never as published facts without an attributable source.

Updates and corrections

Fast-changing information such as prices, venue status, tournament schedules and product availability should show a date checked. Older records remain useful only when their historical date is visible. To report an update, use the directory’s public update form; a submission is reviewed and does not automatically alter a listing.
