Find an event from an identifiable organiser or association, establish who is named as the issuer or sanctioning body, and check the category, fees, refund terms and required player registration before entering.

1. Find a record you can trace

Start with the organiser’s own event page, an association tournament page or a registration page that identifies the event. Do not rely only on a forwarded poster, an Instagram caption or a WhatsApp message: dates, venue, entry limits and terms can change.

Our Tournament Record is a source-led starting point, not a booking service. It preserves the named publishing system so you can go back to the current source.

2. Identify the event’s system

Some events are presented through the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) system; others appear in All India Pickleball Association (AIPA) material or are run independently. The label matters because membership, ranking points, player ID, categories and rules may differ. Use the specific description the publisher provides—such as “IPA-listed” or “AIPA ranking event”—rather than assuming every event follows a universal national pathway.

3. Check whether registration is required

Association registration is not automatically required for every event, but it may be required for events within that association’s stated programme. IPA’s published player-registration material says its annual membership includes access to IPA tournaments and national rankings. AIPA’s tournament and player-registration material sets out its own registration and rules framework. Check the individual event page for the current requirement, amount and deadline; do not rely on an old fee graphic or another player’s experience.

4. Choose the right category

Before entering, confirm the event’s categories in writing. They may include singles, doubles, mixed doubles, junior age bands, Open and Masters divisions. Ask four simple questions: is the category based on age, gender, rating or both; do you need a partner at entry; can one player enter more than one category; and what happens if the category does not fill?

Format
Singles, doubles or mixed doubles?
Eligibility
Age, rating, residence or membership rules?
Partner
Named at entry, or permitted later?
Schedule
Reporting time, day and expected finish?
Equipment
Ball, paddle and clothing rules stated?
Waitlist
What happens if the draw is full?

5. Verify the money terms before paying

The entry fee, any membership fee, refund deadline, prize-money conditions and payment route should be available from the organiser or issuer. Save the confirmation and the page you relied on. Where prize money is advertised, treat it as an organiser or association-published claim until official results or payment terms are available; it is not a reason to skip the other checks.

6. Read the rules and points information

For a ranked or sanctioned event, establish which rules and points system applies. The IPA publishes tournament and ranking material; AIPA publishes a rulebook and ranking policy. Those documents describe their respective systems, not a shortcut around the individual event’s current regulations. If an organiser has not made a material rule, category or points condition clear, ask before entering.

7. Prepare for the tournament day

Bring government identification if the event requires it, your registration confirmation, the stated equipment and a practical backup: water, footwear suited to the venue, and a way to reach the organiser. Arrive early enough to resolve a name, partner or category issue before the draw begins. Do not assume a listed venue will supply paddles, balls, changing facilities or medical support unless the organiser has said so.

8. Preserve the record after play

Keep the draw, result and any points notice. If the event affects a ranking, check the issuer’s published update rather than relying on an unofficial spreadsheet. If a material result, refund or event-status issue arises, use the organiser’s documented channel first and retain the terms that applied when you entered.
